New Haven Cocktail Week-The Elm City celebrates 7 days of drinks culture and camaraderie.

Are you proud to be from Connecticut? I damn sure am, but I used to not be. Any time I wanted food after 10 PM, or as soon as I got around my NYC friends, I would take a dialectical poop on my home state, seeking consensus with those who I thought lived cooler lives than I.
It feels like when we mention our state (outside of political debates with dudes who are still boycotting Nike) I hear folks who have found their path of pleasure in Connecticut and focus on the good.
The truth is, we have improved our self image in the last 10 years, and drinking culture has been the biggest reason that we have broken the shackles of our Nutmegger's inferiority complex. New Haven Cocktail Week sees the entire coalition of thoughtful beverage curators collaborating to give the world a tour guide to why Connecticut is awesome in general, and how New Haven particularly presents craft-minded drinking in a unique way not found in any other city on Earth. The week of events draws a crowd from all over the country (and the world!) and is a perfect time to take a second look at what our crown jewel of a city does every day- provide a resounding rhythm of inspiration and vibrancy, one beverage at a time.
